About Us.
History
The USC Men’s Lacrosse team was established in 1976 and competes in the Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association, a national organization of over 200 non-NCAA lacrosse programs. Within the MCLA, the team is part of the Southwestern Lacrosse Conference, an extremely competitive West Coast league that has been represented in five of the last six national title games and brought home three championships in that period. The Division 1 section of the SLC currently includes USC, UCLA, Chapman, Grand Canyon, Arizona, Arizona State, and San Diego State.
Within the university, the USC Men’s Lacrosse team functions as a Tier One club sport, the highest level of club organization on the campus. The program receives a certain amount of funding and operational support from the school via the Recreational Club Council, but almost entirely self-funded and self-run. It is governed by an executive board decided on by the players.
The members of the USC Men’s Lacrosse team come from all over the country, from a wide variety of high schools. Many chose to attend USC instead of accepting offers from NCAA programs, and several have transferred with D1 or D3 experience. We are excited to continue fielding an extremely competitive team and pursue both conference and national titles in the coming years.
